SafeWork SA - Safe, fair, productive working lives
SafeWork SA is South Australia's occupational health, safety and welfare (OHS) agency. Our primary role is to promote and encourage safe, fair and productive working lives in South Australia by working with employers, employees, unions and industry representatives.
SafeWork SA is responsible for administering industrial relations (IR) legislation* and managing all OHS functions in our state.
A State Government agency, SafeWork SA delivers improved OHS and IR outcomes through:
Communication - raise awareness of the identified, relevant and targeted group
Engagement - gain commitment from everyone
Education - develop knowledge, understanding and skills, and foster quality education and training
Intervention - ensure compliance and assist industry
Evaluation - monitor and assess for ongoing improvement
SafeWork SA offers a wide range of free information products that can assist with industrial relations and OHS issues.
The new industrial relations legislation means that SafeWork SA works in partnership with the Fair Work Ombudsman, to promote education and compliance services.
