Personally, I don't really agree with spraying or using medicine to prevent flea since they are all chemical, which is harmful to pets. I give my cat a shower once a week and he used to it when he was little. Moreover, I keep him indoors that could be the best way to prevent flea or diseases.
If you really need a flea-ring, then you can just visit K-mart and I think they sell the flea-collar there.
