Adelaide invaded by crickets

A pest controller estimates the number of crickets in Adelaide has more than doubled this year because of humid weather.
Eco Pest Control says it received 15 calls for fumigation last Friday.
Another firm Murray Pest Control reported almost 40 calls since Thursday.
The director of Eco Pest Control, Gavin Hutton, said consistent hot weather usually killed many of the insects.
He said the lack of any recent heatwave coupled with more moisture in the air was helping the crickets flourish.
"The amount of calls we had on Friday were double of what we had last year for the whole season, so if it continues, it'll be quite insane," he said.
"But it will also depend on the weather. If we have a hot spell, it will take care of it."作者: luola 时间: 15-3-2011 20:58
