Inpatient - the person is admitted and stays in hospital or facility.
Outpatient - the person comes in for a period of time daily and leaves to go back home. Outpatient is like a clinic, a come-and-go kind of thing.

Inpatient - 是指正在住院的病人，住院病人
Outpatient - 指病人不需要住院，但需要定期会诊治疗；观察。貌似门诊治疗。
